24 June 2019

Amber Infrastructure (‘Amber’, ‘the Company’), a leading sponsor, developer, fund and asset manager of infrastructure, digital, real estate and sustainable energy projects, is pleased to announce that Giles Frost, the current Chief Executive of the business will become Chairman on 1 July 2019 and Gavin Tait will assume responsibility for the business as Chief Executive.

Gavin is one of the founding executives of Amber, having spearheaded the origination strategy of the firm since the Company’s inception in 2009. Over the past 20 years Gavin has built considerable experience leading teams developing and managing successful projects across the infrastructure spectrum.

Giles will take on the newly created role as Chairman of Amber and continue to champion the success of the Company.  Giles’ position as Director and his leading role representing International Public Partnerships (‘INPP’), Amber’s flagship FTSE 250 investment company INPP and all its stakeholders, remains unchanged.

The Company also announces that Amanda Woods will succeed Gavin as Chief Investment Officer.  Together with Gavin, Amanda has led many of the significant transactions originated by Amber since she joined the business in 2010.

As part of a closer integration between Amber and its US strategic investor, Hunt Group of Companies (‘Hunt’), Amber will assume management responsibility for Hunt’s US infrastructure activities and Giles and fellow founding director, Hugh Blaney, will take a greater role in supporting and co-ordinating the business in that market. The intention is that all these business strands will be brought together under the Amber name and, in due course, managed as a single business by the Amber management team.

Commenting on his appointment Gavin said: “Over the last 10 years, Amber has grown from an original 35 people to now employing over 120 experts located in 8 global offices covering the infrastructure, energy, digital and real estate sectors.  I greatly look forward to working with the Amber team to build on our strong track record and continuing the Amber story.”

Giles noted that “I am delighted that in this, the tenth year on since Amber was established, Gavin and Amanda have agreed to step into their new roles.  It is a testament to the strength of our team that we have the in-house resources to drive the business through the next phase of its growth.  I am pleased that the business is in such good shape and have no doubt that it will be in even better shape in years to come.”
