London – Amber Infrastructure Group, the specialist international infrastructure investment manager (‘Amber’ or the ‘Group’), has appointed Dorin–Alexandru Badea as a senior investment director.

Dorin will support Amber’s activities in Central and Eastern Europe including establishing Amber’s presence in Bucharest, Romania. Working with the Group’s teams across Europe, Dorin will focus on developing investment opportunities and Amber’s business in the region.

Dorin was previously an executive director at EximBank Romania leading their capital markets and financial institutions group division. He has spent 20 years working in various banking and capital markets roles in the region and is a CFA Charterholder since 2005. He has extensive knowledge and experience of capital markets and financial institutions in the region. His appointment strengthens Amber’s presence in Europe by adding further transactional and geographic diversity to the team.

Joe Philipsz, Amber Infrastructure Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dorin to the team. We believe his expertise and relationships across the region will bring significant benefits to our business and the funds we manage.”

Dorin–Alex Badea, Amber Infrastructure Group, said: “Infrastructure investment in Romania and broader Eastern Europe is a relatively new asset class. This is both an important challenge and an immense opportunity to develop a significant business and make a difference in this region. Establishing Amber’s office in Romania is a challenge I am glad to embrace, as no other investment manager is better positioned to support the development of this market given their exceptionally strong team and the experience with already advising the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund, the first infrastructure fund dedicated to the region.”
