London – 4 August 2023 – Amber Infrastructure Group (‘Amber’ or the ‘Group’), the international infrastructure specialist, is pleased to announce the further expansion of their US renewable energy portfolio activities through Circle Power Renewables. Circle Power Renewables is an Amber-owned renewable energy company focused on solar and battery projects in the US.

Circle Power Renewables is currently developing over 450MW of projects and has recently secured permits on a development project procured through a pioneering collaboration with Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources.

In addition to the activities of Circle Power Renewables, Amber continues to manage solar installations at existing projects including large scale commercial rooftop arrays and co-located battery storage projects.

Amber recently sold its 100MW Flint Mine Solar project in upstate New York, which when built, will be the largest solar facility in NYISO Zone G, one of the closest designated electrical generating zones to New York City.  During Amber’s ownership, it secured a 20-year agreement for renewable energy credits with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority through a competitive procurement directly linked to implementing the objectives of the New York Renewable Energy Standard.

Amber’s team of renewable energy specialists collectively have over 3GW of solar development, operation and ownership experience in the US renewable market.

Tom O’Shaughnessy, Head of North America, Amber Infrastructure Group, said: “We’re delighted with the ongoing development achievements of Circle Power Renewables, enabling Amber to continue to expand its presence in the US renewable energy market. Amber’s model of partnering with local specialists and active management of investments allows us to develop high-quality assets that deliver the expected outcomes over their entire project life.  Our global experience in solar and wind generation together with our growing presence in the US enables Amber to focus its efforts on attractive energy markets and to guide our investors into these markets.”
