THE BACKGROUND

In addition to the 13-cell custody suite, the facility comprises a 24/7 operational control room, a section station and traffic base for the Thames Valley Police Authority. Operations commenced at the end of construction in April 2000.

In 2011, a further 17 custody cells were constructed, as part of a project variation. The concession will expire April 2030 unless the Authority exercises its option to extend.

Revenues are availability-based and paid by Thames Valley Police Authority.
